Coreopsis are sunny yellow blooms that just brighten up any spot in the garden. They handle full sun and bloom prolifically in clusters from summer through fall. There are many varieties of this flower. I have the one with double yellow, fluffy flowers on tall stems commonly called ‘Tickseed’.
It is an easy-growing perennial but I do water them regularly. You can afford to miss watering frequently once they are quite well-established. Deadheading spent blooms to encourage more blooms applies to this plant like most others. And they do spread easily when given the right conditions.
Aside from the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed the brightness these flowers bring in, I was also relieved of the fact that I didn’t see any problem of mildew with this flowering plant. So a big thumbs up to coreopsis as another easy flowering plant.
